This might sound a dumb question but apart from the SLI bridge connector between the two graphics cards, do you also need to have a dvi cable connecting the two cards at the rear as well so that the SLI can work?? Have Asus board with Asus Bridge connector and two Gigabyte SLI cards plugged in but not able to get SLI working. Both cards detected by system.

sorry i cant help you. but i suggest getting on google to try find a tutorial on setting up SLI

Nope, just the SLI bridge is needed. You'll only end up with a single DVI cable coming out the back of one card, as SLI isn't yet multi-monitor compatible.
